Good old days in Tibet the weavers they weave 3×6 for their local market and they know the design by heart. They didn’t require any graph those days. Later on when carpet is introduced in Nepal in 1960s, and that time all the weavers are new and they need a type of pattern to weave. So, they used one 3×6 carpet on the loom and duplicate that design. Traditional designs are like lotus design, dragon designs, phoenix design, Aubusson designs, geometric designs and two colored checker designs. The wool from the local ships herd on the beautiful Himalaya Mountains used on these rugs considered one the finest kind in the world. Please contact me if you have any questions.
